Details regarding attendance

A hyperm33t is when a multitude of Liero fans meet up for a few days of random amusement, in which is included the Liero World Championships tournament. Attendance is free, but you pay for your own lodging and food.

Deeds

Hyperm33t 2008 was be a 4 day meet (previous years: 3 days). Tournament still on Saturday.
Saw the city of Worms! Wikipedia article, and other cities and towns after forgetting to switch trains on the way.
Saw the amazing exploded castle.
Climbed some steep hills and steps.
Bought a pink bubble-gum-icecream.
Played lots of Liero and Track Mania, combined with some Monty Python watching.
Ate pizza, turk- and chinese food.

The Tournament

A lot of Liero was played on the Friday, so everyone was warmed up well enough for the actual tournament. We had played with random weapons, but came to the conclusion that even though the random factor was intriguing, it was simply too unfair, so we decided that for the tournament, we would first randomize once, then replace two of the random weapons with any two weapons of our choise. We played with 50% reload time, 7 lives and we chose new maps whenever it felt right. Pokol got the most games, but 2xCross got well blown up as well. The final game was played on Izbla. The six players were randomly drawn (by Joosa) into 2 groups where everyone played everyone once. The winners of the groups played the second placed from the other group in semi finals. The two who finished last in the groups played for last place. The winners of the semi finals went on to the final game and the losers of the semi final played for third place.
