Lately I asked on Polish Liga Liero Forum, for "membership fee" to pay for our hosting.

I got two replies.

I did talk to no!mind about Hypermeet this year. He said, he's not going. He said, for him 'Liero is dead'.

I did think about it.
For me, sadly, it becomes truth too.
Job, family (I'm getting married this September), taichi trennings, etc. Life. I'm 32 now, for those, that don't know yet Smiley

Last year we didn't organise Polish LL championships.
Only Gusanos guys still fight, but you know, it has netplay.

This year I lost my enthusiasm for organizing championships.
BJ spends now all his money for debts, and music concerts.
Most of LL Guardians has high school or studies finishing exams.

I'm really happy, that you and LL Guardians still exist, because of superiority of Liero players minds Smiley

I'm thinking, what should we do, to make it all 'alive'

We need fresh blood, and fresh willingness.

On LL Guardians forum I asked for suggestions who to make new LL Guardians and Admins.
Is it all ok here?

If it comes to game itself (LIERO not Gusanos which is great Liero clone, but lacks few Liero features).
The only solution I can think of, is REALLY EASY game/installer which has NETPLAY without ANY problems.

I didn't program net applications, but as far as I know, count of information passed by Liero is huge. But we have Quake and OpenLiero sources, and maybe with today Internet speed it would be possible?
HINT: Maybe one of you studies programming and has to pass some exam, by creating net application?

Concerning hosting, my ideas are:
Me and ChanibaL will pay for it, as we use Dreamhost hosting for our own sites.
I'll pay for liero.org.pl domain, with the money I got from fees (maybe it'll be enough)

Next year I suggest transfer all sites to robal.org domain(which is free with dreamhost hosting), delete liero.org.pl and spend the money maybe for some price in competitions.

Dreamhost also offers easy passing to gmail and google apps in domain, so if any of you would like to have (another) 1337 email @robal.org then it would be really easy to do.

I'm gonna get another coffee, as in few minutes my IT Crowd gonna replace hdd in our company server.

Liero is not dead, its just waiting for Gliptic and I to make a propper clone. ;0
We have deviced a new netplay algorithm which could let us synchronize Liero 100% and have movement prediction at the same time. The algorithm does require quite a lot of CPU though, but a retro game like liero is a good candidate for it.
So if you wait quite a heck of a lot of time we'll eventually make this new Liero clone with better netplay and closer to Liero physics. Tongue

Well... "I'm waiting, I'm waiting for you"

Is there any way I could help, or motivate you? Smiley

I think: Liero is dead, but we are not. Liero is too retro now to ever become a high fanbase game so I just like to rely on the good old stuff. Besides, just because we dont spend our entire years entrapped in the foam of liero worshipping, it doesnt mean we cant go to hyperm33t once a year and relive our childhood. (NoMind!! >:0)

As for payment of serverhosting, i doubt we will ever run out of money for it. but will anyone visit the sites?
