Between a proof of concept and lazyness, this mod use no sprites except for the mandatory ones (skin.png and skin-mask.png). It's a bit hectic, spammy and maybe overkill, but the ten futuristic weapons seem to be somewhat balanced. Have fun!

LINK!

A level (NeoTokyo, oob) is in progress too, but that involves drawing which takes me a loooong time.

Awesome, I like the weapon selection. Will the levels be in wireframe too?

Its seriously amazing :O
Not only innovative and crazy ass because of the 3d but it also has very good gameplay.
I love the hud
I love the procedural animations of the players
I love the cannon thingy
I love jetpack

If only gus 1.0 were done this wouldnt have to be a huge hax of death ;P

It has come on a LOT since I last saw it!

The target tracking is AWESOME, weapon changing is amazing, and the weapons are great.

Pretty damn good for something so lazy Tongue

Now, on to cel shading.

Thanks for the nice comments Smiley

Levels won't be wireframe, since it'd be tooooo much work. Making one weapon model took quite long already, had to calculate all those coordinates by hand... Constructing vectors out of the blue seems to be a funny skill to some, though Smiley

A 3D wireframe level would totally pwn, though... Someone make one!

Can't really see why this is all a huge hax of death?

And cell shading... I doubt it'll be visible on things so small. For 3d models it'll be great, though Cheesy

* Anarchid is in torment as a consequence of him realizing that 3d rendering has a roughly zero compatibility with darkmode Sad

You could always do some evil hax like drawing gradiated sprites over the light spots then drawing terrain on Tongue

It will light the background, but even in the darkest spots, the lines will still shine brightly. And if render darkness as a sprite, how will light dispel it?(now, i know that ultimate darkness is cool, but..!:)). I see only two options here(besides waiting for 1.0) - to somehow implement dynamic image processing(oh, how i lack the MClone-style wounds here, as well as materializable and diggable meat..) to perpetually alter the black overlay according to the lights on it, or - completely and finally override the default renderer, which is not only uber-evil, but also a hellish lot of work Tongue
