Dear Dr. Darka,
Until a few months ago, I was addicted to the Windows operating system. Thankfully I broke the habit and am now a pure linux (Ubuntu) user. However I do miss one thing from my old sinfully days: iTunes (cue sarcastic remark about the thing I miss most from Windows is an Apple product Wink )
Although Rythmnbox is okish for playing songs, it's rather ugly, can't update  my iPod and, most annoying, can't edit id3 tags. Now I have to use EasyTagger for editing tags which is ok if you need to fix a whole album or something, but a pain if you just notice a lone typo.
I'm embarrassed to talk about it to my GP, what should I do?
Thanks,

Nils the Pils

Dear Nils/Pils,

As far as I can see you have two choices. You can either get Rhythmbox 0.9 (compile it from source or wait until Ubuntu Breezy releases) which may or may not have the features you want, or try Amarok. It's a KDE media player which should be able to sync your iPod and edit tags, though some people (including me) had stability problems with it.

Best.

Latest Amarok seems alot more solid than previous versions, only thing i had problems with is when changing the audio visualizations... Apart from that is was fine :>
