mots, How exactly are the keys messed up? are they getting binded to the wrong keys? in that case.. to which keys? if we find the key offset then we can tweak the key names map so that it works for you.

the only keys that work are Tab (minimap) and F1 (scoreboard)

Do you have /usr/local/lib in /etc/ld.so.conf? If not, add it and run ldconfig as root.
I was having every problem mots had until I followed your steps, after finishing up the ldconfig part it worked perfectly. Thanks for the guide. Cheesy

mots, hmm.. those are the only hardcoded keys on gusans 0.8 Tongue

However, for the binded keys, Do they not work? or the key names are wrong? Have you tried pressing all keys untill something happens?
The problem you must have is that the key names are not mapped to the correct key ( for example: key A could move to B and B to C and so on ). So I really need you to test if this is the case or not.

If this were not the problem then I believe that the only thing left would be that the config.cfg is not actually loading.. that or some very weird malfunction.

btw, does the console key work?

grey|shift, did you also get the key problems?

This HOWTO is for 0.8.1, and you probably want 0.9. The HOWTO for it is here:

ehh... I'm still having trouble with this... followed the directions exactly.. (easy with gentoo... huzzah for portage)

when I type scons I get this:

Code:
/scons: *** No SConstruct file found.
File "/usr/lib/scons/SCons/Script/__init__.py", line 870, in _main[code]

and if I type make -f Makefile.linux I get this:
[code]
....
/usr/include/zoidcom_node.h:489: error: candidates are: void
   ZCom_Node::addReplicationInt(zS32*, unsigned char, bool, unsigned char,
   unsigned char, short int, short int)
engine.cpp:47: error: no matching function for call to `ZCom_Node::
   addReplicationBool(bool*, long int, long int, bool, int, int)'
/usr/include/zoidcom_node.h:503: error: candidates are: void
   ZCom_Node::addReplicationBool(bool*, unsigned char, unsigned char, short
   int, short int)
engine.cpp: In function `void connect()':
engine.cpp:70: error: cannot allocate an object of type `Client'
engine.cpp:70: error:   because the following virtual functions are abstract:
/usr/include/zoidcom_control.h:546: error:      virtual void
   ZCom_Control::ZCom_cbConnectionClosed(long unsigned int, eZCom_CloseReason,
   ZCom_BitStream&)
/usr/include/zoidcom_control.h:593: error:      virtual void
   ZCom_Control::ZCom_cbNodeRequest_Dynamic(long unsigned int, long unsigned
   int, ZCom_BitStream*, eZCom_NodeRole, long unsigned int)
/usr/include/zoidcom_control.h:609: error:      virtual void
   ZCom_Control::ZCom_cbNodeRequest_Tag(long unsigned int, long unsigned int,
   ZCom_BitStream*, eZCom_NodeRole, long unsigned int)
.....
make: *** [engine.o] Error 1

So I think I've got soething wrong with this zoidcom thing.

All you have to do to make it work is stick the includes folder for zoidcom into /includes/ and the lib folder inside of zoidcom into /lib/, right?
[/code][/code]

includes go in /usr/local/include and libs in /usr/local/lib (or /usr/include and /usr/lib if you really want them there, but usually not).
