edit config.cfg ( or even better make a user.cfg file in the folder where config.cfg is ) and add at the bottom "double". It will make your game a bit slower but at least it will work. This happens because your system doesnt seem to support the 320x240 fullscreen resolution.

I will add this problem to the FAQ on the wiki since already 2 people have it Shocked

I made a mistake it was "double" not "doubleres" ( I also changed my post so that noone gets confused by it )

Hmmmm, sorry for the annoyance, but I get some problems when trying to play Gusanos

Here's the output:

Code:
havoc@Nosgoth:~/gusanos/bin/posix$ ./gusanos
set_gfx_mode(1, 640, 480, 0, 0): Unable to find a suitable graphics driver
Unhandled exception: Couldn't set graphics mode

I know that a similar problem is documented on the FAQ, but it seems here that it can't even find a graphics driver!

I'm using the "nvidia" drivers (1.0-8178).I tried changing the resolution manually with xrandr and then playing the game, but no go.I'm using the latest versions of boost,allegro,fmod,zoidcom...Boost and Allegro were biult from source...And I have no Idea where to start from.

So, any suggestions?

Well, deleting the entry "fullscreen" on the config.cfg seems to work, but it's a problem worth solving.

It's also a problem with allegro (and/or your graphics driver/card/X11), and not gusanos. Perhaps you don't have Xxf86vm support enabled in allegro, and thus allegro can't change to fullscreen.
